Course overview
Course description
During this friendly and creative course, you will be able to build upon and develop your previous knowledge of greyscale, value and tone and start to consider the importance of contrast and composition in your own work, and that of other artists.
You will be encouraged to look at the photographs you take yourself, to consider what compositions appeal to you and what content you prefer to include or leave out of your own work. By continuing to use the sketchbook you will gather inspiration and information by trying out different experimental techniques and materials. You will also have opportunities to visit galleries and exhibitions and look at the work of other artists and, of course, your very own 'still life' to get the creative juices going!
As a group, we will continue to, informally, generate a glossary of terms to be used throughout the course to start evaluating our work using the language of art. This will help us select work, as we look toward the summer term in preparation for the end of year exhibition.
