The course covers essential tools and materials, including different types of pens, nibs, brushes, inks, papers and a calligraphic sketchbook. Through guided practice, students will learn basic strokes, letter formations, and techniques for both lowercase and uppercase alphabets. Instruction on proper pen grip, posture, and pressure control will help students create smooth, consistent letterforms. By the end of this term, students will be able to create simple projects such as greeting cards or quote art, applying basic layout and composition principles. Regular assignments and peer reviews will reinforce learning and build confidence. This term aims to instil a strong understanding of the basics, providing a solid groundwork for more advanced techniques in subsequent terms.
