Entry Levels 1,2,3: If you have never studied this subject before and you’re not confident in your skills, Entry levels are a good starting point.
Level 1: Covers basic skills and knowledge needed for this subject
Level 2: Building on basic knowledge or experience. Similar to Grade 4/ C at GCSE or O level in England or Standards in Scotland.
Level 3: Learn about the topic in-depth and have a broad range of skills. Independent working Equivalent to an A level in England or Higher in Scotland.
Beginners: A perfect introduction if you have no experience and skills in this subject.
Improvers: The next step if you have basic skills or knowledge but want to progress them further.
Advanced: Build on the solid experience and skills you have in this subject, applying your skills and knowledge in a more complex way.

Course description
This is an English course for adults. You will develop basic English language skills. Before you can enrol on this course, you’ll do a skills check. This is for us to make sure you get on the right course for your level.
Please note that you’ll need an internet connection to study this English course for beginners. This is so you can access our digital learning platform, Canvas. We use Canvas for homework, and also for tasks and activities in the classroom.
You will need to use your phone in class to work on Canvas, and you should also bring a notebook and pen or pencil.
On this course you will learn to:
• use numbers 1 to 50 in English.
• write with upper case and lower case letters
• ask and answer simple questions
• say the letters of the alphabet so you can spell out your name
• read and understand basic sentences
