Level 1: Covers basic skills and knowledge needed for this subject

Course overview
Course description
Each week we will investigate different buildings, their uses and the people connected with them. We will identify styles and features of our buildings, how we can decode and learn from them. We will work from photographs, maps and a range of local history sources and additional material such as newspaper reports, directories and the census. We will bring to life the people who have lived and worked in our selected places and consider what this tells us about the history of Essex.
