Entry Levels 1,2,3: If you have never studied this subject before and you’re not confident in your skills, Entry levels are a good starting point.
Level 1: Covers basic skills and knowledge needed for this subject
Level 2: Building on basic knowledge or experience. Similar to Grade 4/ C at GCSE or O level in England or Standards in Scotland.
Level 3: Learn about the topic in-depth and have a broad range of skills. Independent working Equivalent to an A level in England or Higher in Scotland.
Beginners: A perfect introduction if you have no experience and skills in this subject.
Improvers: The next step if you have basic skills or knowledge but want to progress them further.

Course overview
Course description
On this course, you will learn about the importance of play, the roles and responsibilities of carers and volunteers, and the importance of links with the local community. You will be provided with the basic core and interpersonal knowledge and skills required for working in a childcare context.
You will also be engaged in the learning process through creative and practical fun activities, group discussions, sharing previous knowledge and experiences, using a variety of resources and materials; in a safe and enriching environment. You will develop various techniques and strategies to communicate with children and adults to support confidence in them.
You will explore how to plan for children's holistic development in early years’ settings, that will enhance children's development. You will work within a group; listen and share with others; and develop your progress throughout the course.
Throughout the course you will understand the importance of working closely with parents to meet their children's care and developmental needs and develop the basic skills and knowledge to liaise closely
You will be able to utilise the knowledge and skills gained throughout this course confidently and progress on to an accredited early years’ course or other provision with the 51·çÁ÷¹ÙÍø.
