Level 1: Covers basic skills and knowledge needed for this subject
Level 2: Building on basic knowledge or experience. Similar to Grade 4/ C at GCSE or O level in England or Standards in Scotland.
Level 3: Learn about the topic in-depth and have a broad range of skills. Independent working Equivalent to an A level in England or Higher in Scotland.
Beginners: A perfect introduction if you have no experience and skills in this subject.
Improvers: The next step if you have basic skills or knowledge but want to progress them further.
Advanced: Build on the solid experience and skills you have in this subject, applying your skills and knowledge in a more complex way.
Course overview
Course description
During this course we will look at keeping you safe within your home and workplace. We will look at fire safety, signage, electrical safety, kitchen and food safety and manual handling. During the course we will look at safe ways of working, including the Covid rules. Identify and explain the fire safety procedure and signage. Identify health and safety signage around organisations and who is responsible for ensuring these rules are followed. Demonstrate safe ways of using manual handling around within the home and workplace. Identify and explain the health and safety rules used within a workplace and identify who to talk to about a health and safety concern. Develop your knowledge and understanding of the rules and regulations around health and safety and the laws that protect us all and the importance of adhering to these and the consequences to business, customer service and reputations.
