Take the pressure out of the festive season with a range of relaxing and rewarding art and craft activities. This is a welcoming and informal class where you will have the opportunity to try different art and craft techniques. We will explore the concept of mindfulness and take part in activities which aim to create a sense of peace and wellbeing. You will have the chance to try papercrafts, modelling materials and painting techniques all with a festive theme. You can take part in group guided activities as well as being encouraged to come up with your own art ideas. You will be fully supported to work in a range of techniques and to develop your craft making skills whilst experiencing the benefits of art and craft activities for mindfulness.

This six-week course is for those whose first language is NOT English. It is an intermediate (B1) level course and learners should already be familiar with a basic grasp of the English Language in order to access this course. The sessions will develop learners’ reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills. Lessons will be delivered in a face-to-face setting using a range of teacher led and freer interactive activities to develop learners’ proficiency and confidence. In addition to a focus on general pronunciation, grammar and vocabulary, students will be encouraged to reflect on the English they hear around them and bring new vocabulary and expressions into the classroom to share.

This course is delivered in partnership with Wolverhampton City Council and the Old School, for existing students on the Language@Work programme. This is the second course of six aimed at Upper Intermediate (B2) level learners of English. This six-week course is for those whose first language is NOT English and we will practice all four major skills in each session to further develop reading, writing, speaking, and listening. Lessons will be delivered in a face-to-face setting using a range of teacher led and freer interactive activities to develop learners’ proficiency and confidence. In addition to a focus on general pronunciation, grammar and vocabulary, students will be encouraged to focus on colloquial English and develop an awareness of the local English being used in their contexts.

This Level 1 digital skills course is suitable for improvers, as you will build upon your current digital device knowledge. Learn how to use the Microsoft Office programmes: create and edit text documents in Word, create spreadsheets and use number calculations in Excel, and use PowerPoint to create presentations. The Get Ready for Entry 2 ESOL Writing Course is designed to equip learners with the essential writing skills needed to succeed in the Entry 2 ESOL writing exam. Through a variety of exercises and activities, learners will develop their ability to write clear, coherent, and grammatically correct sentences and paragraphs. The course covers a range of writing types, including descriptive, narrative, persuasive, and formal and informal writing. Learners will also practice using appropriate vocabulary and grammar to express their ideas effectively. Throughout the course, learners will receive regular feedback from their teacher and peers to help them improve their writing skills. The course culminates in preparation for the Entry 2 ESOL writing exam, where learners will have the opportunity to demonstrate their understanding of the course material and their ability to apply their writing skills in a real-world context. This course is funded by the Education Skills and Funding Agency.
